Homemade almond milk
Nutty & creamy
Nutty & creamy
Almonds are very nutritious thanks to their fatty acids, minerals and trace elements. They are also a staple food. Almond milk therefore provides some delicious variety to basic diets. As a tasty drink when playing sport, working, at home, or during a relaxing wellness day, it’s a real feel-good beverage.

What to do!
Pour the almonds into a bowl, and cover with approx. 200 ml water. Leave the bowl to stand over night, with the almonds soaking.
The next day, drain the remaining water, and pour the almonds into the blender.
Optionally, you can also add some sweetness (honey, agave juice concentrate or apple juice concentrate).
Pour in a litre of ice-cold water, and mix well for at least 1 minute.
Pass the liquid through a fine-mesh sieve, or pour over a linen cloth and collect in a bowl or tall container.
Pour the nut milk into clean glass bottles. If it is not going to be drunk immediately, it keeps very well in the fridge for 2-3 days.
Other nuts can also be used to make great drinks as an alternative to almond milk.
Here are the soaking times for other nuts:
Cashews – 2 hours
Hazelnuts – 2 hours
Almonds – 8 to 12 hours
Brazil nuts – 2 hours
Pecans – 2 hours
Walnuts – 6 to 8 hours (but don’t necessarily have to be soaked)
